This isn’t an attack on this person this is just my random opinion triggered by this statement lol. I actually think it’s weirder that we’ve created this idea you can’t possibly love someone without knowing them for some very extended period of time and knowing every detail about them. “I love them” “You don’t even know everything about them? It’s only been a few months?” Like okay, I don’t need to. I love who they’ve shown me now. If that changes and they’re not actually who they say, or they become bad, Ill reassess. But holding out on expressing love, which is literally just another emotion, because there’s some strange aversion we’ve created around expressing it is so odd to me. We never side eye someone when they express they disliked someone immediately after meeting them. “I just got bad vibes” is widely accepted. We so easily accept and condone disliking/hating people almost immediately after meeting them but love? A positive emotion? We shame people for feeling it before some arbitrary period of time that’s usually months if not years. I’d argue we need to love more and stop being embarrassed about it. It’s actually incredibly easy to love people. A lot of people are just damaged with repressed issues surrounding vulnerability and have attachment styles they need to address.

You never feel more pathetic than when you buy a cookie in a cafe. Watch them pick it up with the tongs and put it in a little paper bag for you. Absolutely mortifying. Might as well ask them to change your nappy to go with your flat white.
