(with upcoming epoch change) ▶️ IOTA just shipped v1.21.1, activating Starfish consensus (protocol v24) on the mainnet network. ▶️ What Starfish is: It is IOTA’s next-generation Byzantine Fault Tolerant (BFT) consensus protocol, inspired by Mysticeti but specifically optimized for real-world conditions. ⭐ Starfish keeps the ledger moving forward even when validators lag or network conditions are imperfect. ⭐ Recovery of lagging nodes happens in parallel without stalling consensus. ⭐ It retains high throughput and fast finality while being significantly more robust. ▶️ This is a massive upgrade for reliability, making IOTA even stronger for enterprise and real-world use cases.
