Access to early childhood education is critical for building children's cognitive, social and emotional development. With the support of #JRP education project, New Ways supports teachers that design and deliver CEE knowledge in some of the most isolated classrooms in Somalia.

At a time of expanding droughts, one need that stands out of the humanitarian equation is water. In a newly constructed water wells in Afgoi, Southwest State, 6 people can fill up 6 jerrycans at a time in a fast running water taps. Thanks to @shf_somalia for the generous support.

Across the Southwest Region of Somalia, access to water is limited to specific areas. In May this year, we have constructed and rehabilitated shallow water wells in the town of Afgoi where communities have full access to water points now. Thanks to @shf_somalia for the support.

“Water is a basic human right but not everyone has the privilege of having it.” In Afgoye, access to water was limited but a new WASH project implemented by New Ways is improving access to a clean and reliable drinking water. Thank to @shf_somalia for the generous support.

@CatholicRelief Somalia’s new Country Manager, Mr. Tapfuma, visited NWO headquarters today to meet senior leadership in Mogadishu. The introductory session focused on strengthening the partnership and reaffirming continued collaboration between the two organizations.

Last week, New Ways Organization conduced community-wide hygiene kits distribution campaign in Afgoi as part of @shf_somalia’s integrated WASH project. Distributions were made in Mareeray, Tawakal, Balgure, Wanjeelow and Bulo-elay villages in Afgoi district.

New Ways Organization held community action group training aimed at strengthening child protection structures to support those facing poverty, displacement, and violence this month. Through @shf_somalia funded protection project, we ensure every child’s safety and welfare.

As part our new protection program with @shf_somalia in Buurhakaba, New Ways conducted a protection committee training in Buurhakaba this month where we brought together a group of people who will support our work. The training will enhance the capacity of our beneficiaries.

At the start of every new project, we focus on training our staff for a better and improved service delivery experience. Yesterday, our Lower-Shabele representative Maryan Abdulahi led an informative 3-day hygiene promotion training for our new @shf_somalia WASH project in Afgoi.

In our new WASHFIRST project goals with @CatholicRelief in Barawe, we plan to rehabilitate and solarize two strategic, non‑functional water points. Part of the project includes the provision of 3000 hygiene kits. The humanitarian need in Somalia is big but we can do our part.

With the generous support from @CatholicRelief, New Ways Organization has conducted a hygiene promotion campaign in Barawe. Under the WASHFIRST Project, communities in Barare now have improved access to hygiene and sanitation education. We thank CRS for the support.
