People forget how important attorney/client privilege is. When you ask AI a question, your question becomes evidence that can be used against you. When you ask an attorney question, it's privileged.

@simonw @mustafasuleyman The challenge is people love to anthropomorphize. We pretend our toys, our cars, our plants have personalities. There is something in our brain that searches out signs of humanness in non-humans. I don't think we can succeed in preventing people from perceiving digital humanity.

Which should I pick? My telephone answering bot is 10x better than my answering service and ¼ the price, but people keep hanging up on it. So I can either have the bot or I can get an illiterate answering service.

I somehow fixed X. A while back I put a lot of effort into cleaning up my followers to make it less toxic. At the time it didn't seem to work, so took a leave of absence. Last couple days and the material has been so fun to read. Has the algorithm improved lately?

@simonw @asmeurer @mitsuhiko Like a letter written with a spelling and grammar checker - something we've agreed for decades is a fine thing to do. An analytical mind that knows the difference between good and bad architecture + an LLM.

@asmeurer @mitsuhiko I know that's how language works but it's so frustrating in this case, because what we need right now is a term to help differentiate between code that was carelessly generated with AI without review and code that was written well and happened to involve LLMs at some point

If I were @wpengine's lawyer I'd have shouted for joy seeing this quote at the top of the ruling for preliminary injunction. Nothing embodies the problems behind this dispute better than the dichotomy of this statement and the actions of chief WP maintainers.

So sad that one of my favorite open source projects, @WordPress, is throwing a public tantrum. @automattic has shown that there is no way users can trust them to shepherd this incredibly valuable resource.

If America wants a woman president, I suspect Hilary is more electable. You may say “she couldn’t beat Trump the first time,” but that didn’t stop Trump from running against Biden. And nobody questions if Trump had a chance against Biden.

They’re someone nobody wants as president. They won’t match their predecessor. They’re purposely chosen to make the other candidate look good by appealing to a niche the president can’t reach.

Hope is good, but America can do better than Harris. Rule 1 of politics: VPs are chumps.
