Suspension of Proposed 0.75% wallet-Bank transfer fee. A government that engages, intervenes and cares for the people. It ensures that no undue or unnecessary charges are passed on to consumers. 🙏🏿🙏🏿🙏🏿🙏🏿 #AbanPapaAba

NO eLEVY HERE Let me burst the bubble on this Wallet-to-Bank debate that is creating unnecessary brouhaha. A few minutes ago, I transferred GHS 10,000 from my MoMo wallet to my bank account, and as you can see, I was charged GHS 7.50. This is not MTN introducing a new charge. This is the GhIPSS Interoperability Platform, which has been charging these fees all along, subject to its existing capped structure. What many people do not seem to understand is that there are currently two routes available for some Wallet-to-Bank transactions: 1. The GhIPSS route, which charges a fee (the one I have personally used for years). 2. An MTN route, which many customers have been enjoying at no cost. What MTN is saying is quite simple: From 1st June, they will align pricing on that previously free route and introduce a charge. Here's the interesting part. The proposed charge on the MTN route is actually lower than what I paid through GhIPSS today. I paid GHS 7.50 to move GHS 10,000. Under MTN's proposed structure, the same transaction would be capped at GHS 5.00. So help me understand the outrage. If people have been paying GHS 7.50 through one channel for years, why is the country suddenly on fire because another channel will charge GHS 5.00? Is the issue the fee itself? And which smart person came up with the Word eLevy? Or is it that many people are only now discovering how Wallet-to-Bank transfers actually work? Before we trend hashtags and start calling for heads to roll, let's make sure we understand the facts first. Debate respectfully. @BongoIdeasHQ

John Mahama's incompetence led him to appoint an agricultural engineer to head our digital technology ministry. Now, we are seeing the consequences, with official government websites being hacked like unsecured smart hardware.

MTN MoMo users, take note. Starting 1st June 2026, transfers from your MoMo wallet to bank accounts will attract a 0.75% fee per transaction, capped at GH₵5. That means: • GH₵100 transfer → about 75 pesewas fee • GH₵500 transfer → about GH₵3.75 fee • Any higher amount → maximum fee stays GH₵5
