@fleekix @KxBenson Your post gets (possibly) seen by 25k people as it is in their Local timeline, and you get to see everything posted by 25k people, no need for massive weird lists and filters. Also you can follow hashtags.

@fleekix @KxBenson To reach a lot of people in the infosec community, your best bet is to post on infosec.exchange. Your chances of being seen by people who matter are much higher as they are all on the same server. Twitter is shouting into a gale unless you have influencer followings.

I find it real interesting the info sec community proposed moving to Mastodon as a solution for Twitter dying when it really isn't the same kind of thing at all. Aside from being a social media site. Perhaps there is a misunderstanding of solutions that meet the user's needs...?

@JoannaBlackhart I'll have to check it out, but Mastodon with it's borders makes it feel really soulless and static. Just a bunch of ppl just talking about work and what they're doing, but it's from so many similar people it doesn't feel organic. Feels like going to the same 2600 meeting weekly
