So I guess I need to say this again:
The NBA isnt perfect. There's plenty of valid criticisms & areas for improvement.
But I also believe good basketball is the most entertaining product in sports.
For that reason alone, any predictions of "the death of the NBA" are unserious.

Take a look at youth sports numbers.
Baseball & football enrollment is much higher than basketball.
All you need is a ball to hoop.
Need much more for football & baseball. Yet, the youth is choosing those sports over bball.

The NBA as a league is worth over $200 billion, and that’s not factoring in media rights and ads.
Next year’s cap isn’t decreasing, it’s increasing by ~ $11M to about $165M.
And they just signed a $77B media rights deal.
They’re doing just fine, but thanks for your concern.

I said 2 years ago the NBA will be irrelevant in America within 15 years. People laughed. But this is how it starts. First ratings decline, then fan interest declines, then local media revenue declines. You don’t lose cultural dominance overnight, you slowly become less relevant until it finally shows up in the business side all at once.

@XaviercMiller And they still are. It's simply a RSN issue. The games will be taken over by another platform (YouTube, Amazon, etc.) and the product will still be there. As far as domestic numbers, they have steadily increased, and we've seen that with reports from NBC, Amazon, etc.

It’s jarring how many people I know who couldn’t care less about the NBA right now. Was at a brewery last weekend watching the NCAA and it was like pulling teeth trying to get anyone to talk about the league. The NBA has a serious cultural problem with the American sports fan.

Being in the thick of this, its out of control. We've resisted the pressure thus far. Kids are playing multiple sports. Refusing to buy 2 bats, sliding mitts, etc. Kids just want to be with their friends. Lots of this is just feeding parent egos.

The NBA has informed teams that the league is projecting a $165 million salary cap for 2026-27 -- $1M lower than previous outlooks due to a reduction in local media revenue, sources tell ESPN. Minimum salary $149M, tax level $201M, first apron $209M, second apron $222M also $1M lower each.

They had already allocated his organs.
In 2015, Texas father George Pickering II refused to accept doctors’ declaration that his son was brain dead following a massive stroke.
When hospital staff began withdrawing life support & had already contacted organ donation services.
Pickering took a stand & barricaded himself inside the hospital room with a gun triggering a tense three-hour SWAT standoff.
During negotiations, Pickering repeatedly insisted his son was still alive.
Then came a moment that changed everything: on command, his son squeezed his hand, proving he was still responsive.
Pickering eventually surrendered peacefully and spent nearly a year in jail for his actions.
Against all expectations, his son survived and went on to recover.
Why did he spend time in jail when he was just defending his son’s life.
When you are an organ donor, they try to take you off life support pretty quickly.
