One thing we’ve been thinking and speaking about a lot lately is the role of collectors in digital art. Right now most NFT platforms are optimized for artists minting and collectors buying. That makes sense, but it also means collectors mostly behave like buyers, not curators. We think collectors should build their own onchain galleries instead. Named collections where they curate the works they believe in and build a body of art over time. Artists would still remain the creators and keep full authorship and IP. Collectors wouldn’t own the idea or the image. They would simply own the edition they acquired. If something is a 1/1, it stays a 1/1. Minting defines ownership, not authorship. A wallet can show what you own, but a gallery shows what you stand for. It creates context, taste, and provenance around the work. Curious how artists feel about collectors taking a more active role in curation.
