@AlexUsherHESA @UofT @mcgillu @UBC In my opinion, the administrative burden of participating in Impact rankings just isn’t worth it. The rankings are volatile and produce questionable result e.g. I think it was in 2021 that a Uni in Saudi Arabia topped the gender equity ranking. Lots of top unis opt out.

Actually, it seems @UofT, @mcgillu and @UBC all opted out of the Impact rankings this year. I guess if you can't be guaranteed a top-3 spot it's not worth participating.

@GrogsGamut HECS is far too expensive now days. I remember freaking out when my HECS debt hit $12k in 2006. I started working full time that year & I’d paid the whole thing off by mid 2009, without making additional payments. There’s no way an Arts graduate could do the same now days.
