Honestly, my main gripes with Dawntrail are all content-related. Patches were spread out more thinly than ever, ever as predictable, fight designs stale, Forked Tower and the chaotic Alliance raid were ... special. At least Occult Crescent and Cosmic Exploration were fun

first person I see saying this lol! I actually think in classes where the 123 do meaningfully different things (positionals etc) or where you need to weave always after 2, that 111 is a higher mental load because you can't muscle memory and have to actually look at the icon

I don't want 1-1-1, not because of skill expression bla bla bla I don't want it bc I'm stupid, and sometimes I get lost, and idk where I am in my combo if it's all on the same button 😭 I like being able to see 1-2-3 on my hotbar 😔 I can't be the only one like this right 🥲

also I should add that dps checks did used to exist in a more real way in normal content back then (most add phases), but I do think the point stands even if that wasn't the case.

naturally, they weren't dying to a DPS check, but the gap between normal content/alliance raid and extremes wasn't so vast. Now, there is less of a natural filter for higher content, so you get ppl in there who're unaware they don't even know the basics of this game

imho this is a consequence of normal content becoming too easy. I remember in HW people saying they couldn't kill alliance raids, and then when they did they'd spent the whole time dead. I remember in SB multiple people in my FC were stuck on Shinryu normal for days -
