Most people say Tan Jianci can dance because he was an idol before becoming an actor, but his dance background goes far beyond that. Tan Jianci started learning dance when he was very young and already had a remarkable background in competitive ballroom dance long before entering the entertainment industry. He trained professionally at the Beijing Dance Academy Affiliated Secondary School, won the Latin Dance Championship (Professional Under-16) at the National Sports Dance Championships, and placed 3rd in Latin and 4th in Modern Dance at the IDSF Grand Prix Final – Shanghai Open. He also won First Prize in Latin Dance at the Taoli Cup Dance Competition, one of China’s most prestigious dance competitions. By the time he was 16, he had already mastered more than a dozen dance styles and was even recommended to study DanceSport at Beijing Sport University. So his ability to dance doesn’t come from being an idol, it comes from years of professional training and high-level competition since childhood! #TanJianci

#TanJianci who is incredibly talented in every field, yet he still feels insecure because he wants to make sure he gives nothing but the best 😭 "I have no confidence in doing these things, because I wanted to achieve too much and do it too perfectly. So, when I wasn’t fully prepared, I kept putting it off." Before stepping onto the shining stage, Tan Jianci didn’t have 100% confidence. To make matters worse, after finally deciding to hold a concert, his vocal cords were severely affected by a viral infection. No doctor could give him an exact recovery timeline. He refused to retreat, leaving him with only one choice: to go all in. He not only aimed to restore his voice to its pre-illness state but also to train it to be even better, good enough to meet the standard he believed was necessary for holding his own concert. "It felt like preparing for war, but you’re still a bedridden patient. You have to train every day—first learn to stand, then slowly start running, and eventually begin fighting. It was a long process." That period of constant worry about his vocal cords still haunts Tan Jianci. To play it safe, he has kept the habit of using medication. Even six months later, before every concert, he still ensures a doctor is present to eliminate any risk of vocal issues. "I think I’ve been out of the music performance scene for too long. Three years ago, my team organized a birthday fan meeting for me. Even then, I questioned my ability to draw a crowd in the performance market. This time, with such a large-scale concert, I initially doubted if so many people would come." This wasn’t false modesty. Before tickets officially went on sale, Tan Jianci’s uncertainty reached its peak. He still remembers that day vividly. While taking a vocal lesson, he hid alone in a room—neither joining the rush to grab tickets himself nor asking anyone about the preparations. He simply waited quietly for that moment until he heard his colleagues cheering outside. The tickets were sold out. In 4.96 seconds. This was the sellout time calculated by professional software. "I cried alone in the room, lying on the sofa with tears silently streaming down my face. After crying, I thought, okay, that’s enough. I turned off my phone, went back to class, and resumed rehearsing." Without needing to force himself to remember, he will never forget how fleeting yet eternal that moment felt
