The best pitchfork reviews are the ones where it seems like they’re inventing words and people to see if they can get away with it. You simply can’t read sentences like this anywhere else. cc @willystaley

There's something about this recent trend of mega viral AI essays that feels distinct - like we've entered a new media era

@TheStalwart People spent a ton of time learning to prompt... and based on how well the latest models respond to plain english, it seems like a skill that will be largely unnecessary within the year

I do loathe all the stuff about how you have to use AI or you're going to be left behind. If it's going to be that disruptive, then there's probably not much that you can do. And also there's no skill involved in using it. There's no learning curve. Can always pick it up later.

Anthropic has continued to lag far behind peers when it comes to broader awareness among the general public. Recent product leaps and silicon valley buzz haven't moved the needle - will be interesting to see what happens following this new ad campaign

I think if we have Josh Allen we still lose in 22, still don’t make a SB in 23, still win in 24 and have a notably better chance this year. If we have Stafford, Jackson, etc the chances of us having more than one Super Bowl are not meaningfully higher

Over four years of being on a contender, Hurts won one Super Bowl and lost another putting up 37 with a 90th percentile qb performance. I’m not saying there aren’t better qbs, but the list who would have likely delivered more for Philly is what… 2 or 3?

My issue with Greg’s position is not that it’s “wrong” it’s that it’s not obviously right. These analytical cases can create binary correct/incorrect decisions when they rest on marginally shifting win %. Momentum/game feel/etc matter and may go the opposite direction

A defense that knows it just needs one stop to have a reasonable shot to tie plays differently than one that is aware they have almost no chance. Greg’s logic is only right if you consider the near impossible (retrieving an onside kick) is a factor. Otherwise it’s about momentum

I think it is debatable! In this situation there was ~0% chance of getting 3 possessions, so would you rather play out the last 3 mins with the potential to win or have that play effectively end it if you miss? That impacts both teams mentality in a way numbers don’t capture
Greg Olsen@gregolsen88

The 2 pt conversation is this Philly trailed by 15 That’s a 2 score game slightly less than 50% of time (2pt success rate) It’s a 3 score game the remaining % You want to know as early as possible how many possessions you need. That’s why you go for 2 down 9 It’s not debatable at all

I just got a google alert that said Texas A&M had taken the #1 ranking. I clicked and it opened this AI chat that explained that was not true. What/why?

I guess this could be a reason to ban the tush push if it happened a lot. But I don’t think it’s ever happened before? The refs were just really bad all game
Cousin Sal@TheCousinSal

Reason #57,192 why the Tush Push needs to go away. This clear fumble is ruled a 1st down as a result of stopped forward progress. Brutal.
