@hawkeyegamefilm As a Packers fan, I would love for them to take Wetjen. He can return kicks and punts from day 1. I expect he will need to carve out a role on kick coverage as well to lock in a spot.

Makes sense Wetjen would shine in the 1 on 1 drills like this; hopefully he finds a home where he can be in impact guy Y1 as a returner and work his way into carving out a role as a WR

@hawkeyegamefilm In 2015, Iowa was at 7.8 yards per pass. 7, 7.2, 7.4 from 2017-2019 during the Stanley era. I felt pretty good about our pass game back then.

@hawkeyegamefilm 100%. The passing offense was enough to keep the team on the rails but not good enough to compete with the top of the B10. The passing game needs to get to 7.5 yards per attempt (6.4 this season). Getting there helps with the razor thin margins we are used to Iowa playing with.

Some season in review thoughts for Iowa's '25 year: Iowa clearly left the old B1G West days behind, D & ST continue at a high level, but O is a vast improvement over the last 4-5 years, still work to be done there but signs pointing up there

Iowa QB Mark Gronowski has accounted for 24 touchdowns this season (15 rushing, 8 passing, 1 receiving). Second on the team with 491 rushing yards (a single-season Iowa record for QBs). Led three fourth-quarter game-winning drives (and nearly a fourth, vs. Oregon).

@TylerKluver I think the 2015 team goes 10-2 or perhaps 11-1 with the 2025 schedule. Much more balanced on offense (7.8 yards per pass). The 2015 team had a little more star power than the 2025 team has. I stil really enjoyed the 2025 season though. Really good, inches from truly special.

If 2015 Iowa played 2025 Iowa who wins and why?

@zachkruse2 Right. Absolutely no reason to put the ball in harms way when you can drain the clock and your defense can suffocate them. Got the win easily and got out relatively healthy for Thursday.

The Packers were super conservative today. Frustrating, yes. But no Jacobs, no Tucker, no Reed, no Elgton, no Golden. QB is playing through pain. Vikings defensive coordinator is blitzing like crazy. They took the path of least resistance today. Run game and defense. Win.
