“Había una ideología en educación que estaba causando el daño: en la forma en que se enseñaba a leer -usando el enfoque del lenguaje global en lugar del método fonético tradicional-, en prácticas muy extrañas en la enseñanza de matemáticas, en un currículo débil y en bajas expectativas especialmente en escuelas que atienden a comunidades desfavorecidas.
