The four Big Ten teams from the West Coast --- Oregon, Washington, UCLA, and USC --- are a combined 6-19 in Big Ten games this season outside of the Pacific Time Zone.
None of these four programs will ever win a Big Ten regular season title.

I don't think the Giannis noise is real. I think bettors overreacted to seeing him in Chicago & investing in real estate.

The Bears finish their season 16th in point differential, 16th in DVOA, bottom five in yards allowed per pass and per rush, while having lost 3 of their last 5 games. Tough to feel good about them. Really a historically weak No. 2 seed.

The Lincoln Riley rumors got so loud that he had to comment on them in the media, so I'm not 100% sure Pate was wrong here.
He was favorite on Kalshi to go to Penn State on November 30th.
I know he is often vague in how he talks, but he's a media "talking head" with incredibly good sources, not a journalist.
The entire CFB industry talks a lot, but of course, Pate can't just come out and say 100% what he knows. He'd burn his source.

This is the cleanest thing that could happen.
1. Alabama and BYU out — consistency with conference title game losers
2. Miami and Notre Dame both get in, avoiding the biggest debate of the entire CFP.

Very amused I have to do this dance with an NFC North fanbase every year. Enjoy the wins! No one can take them from you. But "you are what your record says you are" is the biggest lie in sports. Records lie ALL the time on team quality.
