I am finding some of the responses to Hannah Spencer's very serious point just baffling. Paramedics, bus drivers, nurses doctors all work late. They cannot drink alcohol whilst at work. Reeking of alcohol/being pissed is a serious disciplinary matter.

Let’s face the fact, Greenland can’t do anything if US attacks them tomorrow. Also, NATO and EU are equally weak & can’t help. The only trouble it can give the US is this! Danish pension fund announces they will sell all US Treasuries by month-end. Now you will say what’s the big deal, isn’t it? Let me explain! Have you heard trump shout his lungs out since he has been elected that FED needs to lower rates? Why does trump want lower rates because they have 38.5T of debt on which they are paying roughly 1T as interest Why is FED not reducing rates? Because inflation is high! Also the tariffs are increasing the inflation in the country. So high debt, high inflation and high rates! Imagine if countries start selling US treasuries, which will increase the yield or rates in the US even further & inflation stays higher because of tariffs what will happen to the citizens and the government? BTW Denmark only owns $100M of US treasury but Europe holds 40% of the US foreign treasury! If it comes to that, this is the only option Europe has! I don’t think anyone has fully grasped how bad things can get once the US loses the ability to borrow infinity money. Crazy days, thanks to Trump!

Something is very badly wrong presently

I genuinely cannot understand how generation above me ended up here. We grew up idolising David Bowie and through him discovered Lou Reed and Iggy Pop. We lived through punk and post punk smashing gender norms in public. We watched Prince blur masculinity and desire. We danced to Boy George. We worshipped Grace Jones. Then came the flamboyance of the eighties where androgyny excess and self invention were celebrated. Gender bending was not a threat. It was art. It was freedom. It was cool. So how did the same generation become so hostile to people simply existing outside rigid boxes. How did we go from celebrating difference to fearing it. This backlash does not come from culture or history. It comes from forgetting who we were and what we stood for. None of this is new. Get over it.

You can criticise leaders. But when the nation itself is under threat, walking away is not protest, it’s surrender. Defending your country does not make you a warmonger. It makes you responsible. Without our land, we will be slaves. I am not a traitor. I will not turn my back when my country needs defending. Are you?
