Kicking it old school style today. Pen & paper planning for a presentation I’m doing this week while on the train to the airport. When I need to get unstuck paper never fails. Uninterrupted writing time incoming ✈️

I spent 2 hours geeking out with @emmabrooksdsgn tonight over knowledge, AI, Ideas & everything in between. It sparked an idea for a new template I want to build tentatively called 💡Knowledge Base. It's a place for knowledge seekers (Emma's words) to capture, store & more importantly LEVERAGE the knowledge they acquire each day. Your knowledge is your biggest asset. And most of us never utilise it. Not just as reference material for our future selves. But as something we can package up, share & maybe even sell as a product. I'm passionate about helping people recognise the knowledge they have locked up inside them & finding ways to leverage it into digital products that can earn them an independant income. SO... If you're a knowledge seeker and want to help me beta test this thing let me know with a comment & I'll get it over to you. PS. I'll be building versions for both Notion+Tana.

@aaronhoyland Had trouble closing the bathroom door one day and tried several times before I realized my toddler’s fingers were stuck between the door and the frame. She still regularly reminds me of this in her teen years 😬

What’s ONE activity that makes you really happy?

👆 This! Yes, have empathy for people because many are going thru things we can’t understand. BUT if you work with people at all, part of having a job is not making everyone suffer through what you’re going thru. We can’t walk on eggshells around everyone just in case they’re having a bad day.

I disagree. This is why society breaks down. Convivialness, congeniality, and common courtesy are social lubricant. When you work in customer service, that’s your job, you fake it and be courteous and present. That “you don’t know what someone is going through” cuts both ways. Someone could have gone into that shop, been evicted earlier in the day, and was spending their last $20 on dinner… a simple smile and basic politeness from the staff is not too much to ask. And the opposite is true in return, you smile and be pleasant to the staff because their job can be unpleasant at times. Everyone needs to put forward a bit of effort in a polite society and stop making up excuses for people who don’t. You want to live in a pleasant world, be pleasant… or at least pretend.

Whatever happened to customer service? I just walked into a gas station, walked up to the counter and said, “hey, how are you?” A coworker walked in, and she did not even acknowledge me. She did not say thank you or come again… She said nothing. I’m astonished.

7.5 hours into what was supposed to be a 6 hour road trip and I’m soooo tempted to start obsessively asking “are we there yet?!” How annoyed do we think everyone else in the car will be? 😂

Last time we went on a road trip, my son (18 at the time) kept asking us to pull over because he had to pee like every hour or so. My wife turned around to him and said, “Are you pregnant?” He was totally confused. She said, “The time I had to pee as often as you, you were sitting on my bladder for about 8 months, so I’m trying to figure out what’s wrong with you.” 😂😂😂
