Decimating trial by jury will be a huge constitutional mistake, dimming the lamp that shows that freedom lives

The best British journalist are displaying incredible restraint in the reporting of continuing collateral damage. We need to copy them and support majority opinion. Avoid extravagant language. But this continuing damage to civilians has to stop.

How do good friends of Israel persuade them that collateral damage is undermining their legitimate aims to destroy terrorism?? We have moral duty to speak out calmly but clearly.

I admire the courage of Lord Levy in speaking out so honestly and so clearly. We must continue worldwide in moderate language to try out against extreme violence and hunger.

It is not remotely antisemitic to back 100% the joint statement calling for peace and relief from famine in Gaza. Moderate opinion the world over is deeply shocked.

Put bluntly, politicians right across the political spectrum should speak out

I applaud the moderate language of the Foreign Secretary in speaking of the potential breaches of humanitarian law in Gaza Th level of contingent damage to civilians has reached a new horrifying level. We must support unequivocally Immediate restraint.

By the same token, nothing can justify the continuing retention of hostages by Hamas. It is cruel beyond belief.

In the name of all that matters, Israel must stop breaches of humanitarian law which are killing children. It is not antisemitic to say so. In fact, I am sure my Jewish friends feel deeply conflicted.

In a few crisp sentence. Joanna Hardy-Susskind captured the gravity of the Court Court nightmare - and managed to speak true supporting trial by jury. Great stuff. All support for the Justice Secretary - this i running scandal needs wide continuing coverage ]

I hate personal attacks on public figures which go beyond fair comment. Motes and beams. Time now to leave Rachel Reeves alone. And I don’t belong to any party.

In case you’re reading Camilla Tominey in Telegraph abt Kay Burley leaving Sky, there’s at least 1 inaccuracy in the piece She mentions Newsnight & claims it’s ‘haemorrhaging viewers’ Not true The audience figures are up 30% since the new format began last May

Beautiful Holocaust memorial this evening - very touched by the multi-faith tone and I appreciated the very good address of the Prime Minister. So well presented with skill and restraint by Reeta Ch .

@FallingTreeProd The programme Complex today was simply superb. A very skilful and high quality production and extremely moving. You should remain with the BBC in a just world. I hope that wiser heads prevail.
