@mforde @dennyhamlin Shooting at night is a different game compared to daytime. For one the camera ISO or gain is turned up to collect enough light to capture the image. Basically when you turn up the ISO you get a much more grainy image which affects the quality of the final image making it softer

Good ?/comment here from @dennyhamlin. He's not alone. The quality of the photo has many factors: sunlight (which is why the Derby photo was clearer), humidity (it rained earlier), distance from S/F line (the cam is on the cold side of PR). Here are two examples during daylight.
