Following Monday’s visit by the Reform party and its leader, Nigel Farage, the club would like to issue the following statement: Ipswich Town Football Club has, over several years, hosted representatives from a range of political parties. The club remains apolitical and does not support or endorse any individual or party. The club will continue to engage with representatives from across the political spectrum as part of its role within the community. Ipswich Town is proud to be an inclusive, diverse, and welcoming organisation that supports all members of the local and wider community. This commitment remains unchanged.

Book a stadium tour of Carrow Road - new dates now available. Terms and conditions will most definitely apply 😬

Honestly, what’s stopping this England team from winning the World Cup? 🏆

@Dee_the_Saint @matt_newsum @andrewfoster101 Christ I’ve just realised that. It’s like a malfunctioning robot has been given the actual teamsheet and messed about with it. This is what happens when ‘data’ systems replace human beings. Accuracy and common sense disappear

Director for change? The aesthetics of the Giants couldn’t look any worse right now. It’s going to take some massive changes to turn this around. Relegation a real possibility. Ken Davey has bankrolled the club for years and has got virtually nothing to show for it.

@nigelwis @MarkWilsonRadio I also wonder how much self-awareness Ralph Rimmer has about the perception of him and his credibility in Rugby League leadership? I am yet to hear a league fan say a single sincere or positive thing about him.

@jdgsport 100%. But it’s astonishing how media has gone backwards when the tech should make it easier and quicker. Newspapers the same. Dickhead execs pushing back deadlines to save money on print slots which hugely compromises coverage - especially in sport

@nigelwis I doubt the systems would be editable in-house, as it will simply be displaying a feed. So it's the source where it needs to be sorted. Given the amount of analysts at all games now, we should be well beyond getting just line-up and scorer data for every RL game.

@jdgsport Their resources will be stretched like every other media organisation. But this should be a relatively simple fix given the technology at hand. From a journalism perspective, one trained sub-editor could check and change accordingly if the external supplier provides that nonsense

@nigelwis Not just a BBC thing, but from the source. Ultimately RL's grasp of its own live data has been poor for 15+ years. They should be getting it right in-house and then supplying to help maximise coverage of the game. Many live score apps now just do results only.

@nigelwis @andrewfoster101 I've flagged up a few of these of late personally as well so I'll see if we can get some correspondence to them provider to get a more consistent service.

@andrewfoster101 @matt_newsum That’s good to hear. Often people complain without going through a due process where something could be fixed. Here the website sports editor should be aware how unprofessional it looks. BBC is my go-to for all sports and this is bafflingly amateur and confusing

@nigelwis @matt_newsum Tbf I used the complaints process to ask that they update the bbc sport website so the newly promoted SL teams were “clickable”, ie could see their results and fixtures, and it seemed to work.

@matt_newsum What I genuinely don’t understand is clubs’ media outfits provide printed sheets with the team in playing order. All that needs to happen is that to be copied. Before online happened, those teams would be sent to PA to go on the wires as the definitive guide. Old school!

@matt_newsum Sure and Beeb like every other media organisation is no doubt understaffed. But it’s a fundamental error from what should be the most trusted source. I’m not here to knock the BBC - far from it. But this is easily fixable

@matt_newsum Yeah I’ve been told this before but ultimately it’s the BBC’s responsibility to sort it - either at source by spelling out what’s wrong to the external company they pay or by having someone on staff change the format of the information given when it’s provided. No excuse

@nigelwis They are supplied by an external data provider, the BBC has a contract for the fixtures, tables and matchday information such as teams and scorers etc.
