Koda and shoji living literally in opposite places, and they get close and work together in the end, also shows the discrimination was across whole Japan Also if these 5 met at such a young age, my god, unstoppable team, deku had the chance to met better people or even save shoto way before, so close and yet so far away

@YaBoy_Spike @SuperpeludoYGO I mean it's pretty accurate. Swap Bakugo with literally any other member of class 1-A and you instantly have increased the quality of that friendship as everyone else was nicer to midoriya

@AlekLeywin Honestly I think it's a misunderstanding of hero in this context. Izuku is the greatest hero, not from power, but because he's now the hero he never had, he gets to ensure no child ever goes through what he went through, no child goes ignored.

@QuartzPJ Honestly I think the single most disappointing things about mha is the lack of little moments like this. I know filler generally gets a bad wrap but I like the slower moments too when we get to see them just be students and friends.

That’s totally fine. And I agree. I didn’t like Bakugo at first. And wanted to punch him in the teeth. But I began seeing the little development moments even as early as the end of season 1. The thing is that this was a character that was a bully and I expected the typical bully trope story but it was different and it intrigued me. Especially how his and Deku’s stories reflected the flaws of society and then their development also reflected the change society then went through. I’m not asking anyone to like him. But understand that it’s written a certain way for him, not that it’s crap. It’s just a different character in a different story with a different environment, the story was written around that.

Just say you have no fundamental understanding of Bakugo’s character arc. Here’s the thing. Bakugo had ideally everything he could have wanted, a great quirk, got into the best school, both parents who were supportive, praise from his piers. And he still felt empty. That’s because what he wanted was to be a hero and he had a skewed idea of that. He wanted to be like all might, no he wanted to be greater than all might. But that part of all might that made him HIM was missing in Bakugo. It’s why every step of his journey in UA seemed to cause him to hit a wall. He couldn’t get to that place he wanted to. It’s why once he realized he started to change, he realized what he was missing and that his attitude towards Deku and how he treated Deku was part of that. As he sought to improve those parts of himself and atone for what he’d done to Deku he still struggled but he was making his way. Changing of his own accord, recognizing his own flaws. Without having to be beat into submission. Making his change genuine. Just because you don’t like HOW he faced consequences and came to his development doesn’t mean it wasn’t good or right. It was to tell a very specific story that fit a very specific character. You don’t have to like it but quit crapping on people who recognize it for what it really is!

@Kurorealciel2 If it helps, I didn't see the sports festival as a gag, and more of U.A protecting it's reputation. Bakugo looked like he was going to attack an unconscious opponent, u.a chose to give the appearance of taking a stance against it. That's how I saw it

Notice how they use a literal gag as evidence of abuse but when we say UA abused Bakugou during the sport festival they scream "GAG". Despite the fact only one of these scenes is canonically relevant to the plot and treated seriously within the story.

@TH34OE @dzyunkau3 There are a lot of "fans" who believe the best way to solve the Bakugo is is to have him beaten and I some cases to have midoriya outright kill Bakugo. Their fundamentally wrong, but they exist.

One thing I will say about the 'Bakugou should have been beaten up' spiel is that it wouldn't have changed him. Some people seem to think he just needed to be beaten into submission. But Bakugou has never let a stronger opponent keep him down.

@peppermnt_tea This is likely just me, but I believe his motivations for being a teacher at least in part are to be the hero he never had in his life. By being a teacher he not only gets to help but make sure no students suffer like he did in middle school and prior.

Don't know why people say deku becoming a teacher is motivated from what happened to shigaraki/tenko if that was the case why is he teaching at a prestigious hero school to kids that are accepted by society and not be a pro and find those criminalized by society and offer help

@SassyRaptor If I may offer a separate perspective. It's not so much that he wasn't reprimanded, it's that izuku wasn't worth reprimanding Bakugo in the eyes of U.A, at least that's my guess, they probably just wanted people to care about izuku more

“no consequences” they say while he was facing consequences throughout the entirety of the series. but ok. folks just seem upset he learned his lesson on his own instead of being formally reprimanded and forced by others to atone.

Society that watched him get suffocated by a villain like a show; failed to save him from kidnapping; disrespected and spat on his idol's face after retirement; judged and treated him like a villain and failed to save his life. In return he SAVED SOCIETY defeating the Demon Lord.

@arcadiant_ @genospsychosis I mean advocating for himself, outright saying, I don't like how you treat me, I don't deserve to be treated so poorly. Ect ect, not every solution needs to be violent, but be absolutely could call out Bakugo on physical assault and emotional abuse

@genospsychosis I don’t understand what doing “anything negative” looks like in the context of Deku’s character. Bakugou’s greatest enemy was himself. Deku understood this better than anyone. I’ve yet to see ways Deku should’ve responded that are true to his character and the narrative themes.

People wonder why people have a problem with Bakugo and Deku’s dynamic when he just keeps doing shit like this and Deku just never does anything negative about it and the rest of the cast ignore it
