I don’t want to be addressed as ‘ desh ki beti ya behen’. I get that it taps into familiar social roles and evokes protection and moral duty or whatever. but stop. I don’t want to be known in relation to something. I’m a citizen. I never hear anyone address men as desh ke bete.
Even in close friendships, learn to mind your own business. If they’re not sharing something with you, it’s likely because they don’t want you to know or they’re just not ready yet. You’re not entitled to know everything happening in their life at all times.
