𝐔𝐏𝐃𝐀𝐓𝐄: Bills WR Brandin Cooks confirms not only did he “catch” the football but it also “felt” like a catch. “At the end of the day, it was a catch. Not just what it looked like but what it felt like.” One of the worst calls in NFL history 🤦‍♂️

𝗕𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴: NFL Films has released new footage that shows Bills WR Brandin Cooks CLEARLY caught the ball. The refs somehow ruled this an interception essentailly giving the Broncos the win over Buffalo. One of the worst calls in NFL history...

@chatham58 Did they ever review and confirm the Shakir catch? There was PI on the play so there was no reason the ever review it on the field. Also, this play happened in week 18 which was reviewed and a confirmed INT. Its almost 1:1 with the Cooks play. The refs are fairly consistent here.

The reason the INT call last night in Denver was clearly BS is because this same NFL, given the same rule language, reviewed and decided Shakir DID satisfy 3c on 12/14, but somehow Cooks last night—given the identical rule language—didn’t. And Cooks inarguably exhibits control Shakir never had. So the NFL set their precedent. Then ignored it. It isn’t about what the rule says and if you feel Cooks fell short of what you think the football move control text of 3(c) means. It’s that the NFL created precedent (in the Shakir play and others in 2025) of what constitutes the control element. But then decided to interpret it far differently to decide the AFC Divisional.

@ChadLofton @RuthlessKrez23 @tHaCrYpToNiNjA @MLFootball Well that wasn't how it was ruled in game and there wasn't an uproar about it. Refs have consistently called this type of play an interception. It is deemed that after the process of the catch is completed, only the defender had control. Here's another one.

@nilbog00 @RuthlessKrez23 @tHaCrYpToNiNjA @MLFootball This is a catch. By rule, if a receiver and defender catch the ball at the same time and both go to the ground with it, the tie goes to the receiver. The receiver does not have to have control first, simultaneous control is enough.

@LastMenPod @MLFootball Which one? This one where the same thing happens and the refs again correctly rule that the receiver did not survive the ground? The receiver has the ball in both hands tucked into his chest when his knee hits so he should be down by contact at that point according to bills fans

@MLFootball We absolutely agree and then the call the next day in the Pats game made it worse. The NFL has an officiating crisis.

@jhardy4900 @AirportIslander @tHaCrYpToNiNjA @MLFootball He has two hands on the ball when his knee hits. He only has one hand on the ball when his shoulder hits. As soon as his shoulder hits, he loses control of the football. If he did not lose control, how could the defender have taken the ball from him?

@AirportIslander @tHaCrYpToNiNjA @MLFootball He has control through the roll over. You can clearly see that the momentum of the defender drags Cooks which confirms possession. There's no way he drags Cooks without him possessing the ball.

@JohnTBTucker @tHaCrYpToNiNjA @MLFootball in the rules book when a knee touches the ground the play is officially over,(that what it says ) the receiver at that time had caught the ball, when they both went over backwards, the defender wrestled the ball out from the receiver, problem is he was down ,before that action.

@EaracheEye @PaulPabst @GregTompsett It is. Which you can clearly see in this video his knee hits before any other body part. Should be down by contact. Irrelevant what happens after my image since he's down by contact according to your logic.

@JagexAyiza @OldSchoolRS @JagexPheasant @JagexAthena @JagexBlighted @JagexTwisted @JagexTyran 10+ year old maxed account, 13K+ hours played, all my gp/items still on the account, I was skilling/PvMing/Deathmatching on stream when it was allowed. There is 0% chance I broke rules. Whatever ‘evidence’ there is has been fabricated or poorly assessed. I want a fair review.

Day 14 of making suggestions to fix bad OSRS content: Nightmare zone is a mess. I suggest adding another mode to it. Create a Boss Gauntlet mode, where you bring in a set of supplies and gear. This gear and supplies is all you get for a set of four bosses. More kills more points.

Last tweet on this then it's on to New England. Cooks has his hand on the nose of the ball in pic on the left, on the right - the nose of the ball clearly visible. Both these frames happened before he hit the ground.
