every v8 behind the scenes story somehow makes them even more endearing 🥹😭 🐻‍❄️ to be honest, i don't have much. just that our first track, ‘friend’. for ‘friend’, we didn’t have this in the intro. i came up with the idea and added it on and thought, “wow, he’ll be so moved.” the first audio of our v8 album is of his interview when he was a kid, as a b-boy crew leader, with him saying, “i want to be a superstar.” that’s how the album starts, and i sent the file thinking he’d love it. i got a quick response, and he said, “but wouldn't it sound a bit funny?” and i felt deflated. 🎱 because.. let me tell you why. because i grew up in dongbei, my dialect was very strong, so hearing my dialect at the start of the v8 album... is this really okay...? 🐻‍❄️ but it’s so genuine. 🎱 and back then, when i got your message, i had just woken up, so i was taken aback. having this be the beginning of our album... is it okay? that’s why i sent that. but he said, “this is so moving,” so i took that approach, put it in my brain, and listened to it again, and it made me think, “oh, it really is pretty moving.” sorry. 🐻‍❄️ no, it was nice.
