A Bet We Made in 2018 This is me and Vitalik in 2018. ETH Devcon. We were at a table talking about sharding and how blockchains could actually scale by running execution in parallel. At the time, Ethereum and Elrond had the same thesis. Both believed execution sharding was the path forward. Since then, Ethereum changed direction multiple times. Sharding gave way to rollups. Rollups gave way to "we need to scale L1 again." The roadmap shifted, the promises changed, the technical approach pivoted more than once. And through all of it - the Ethereum community stayed. They gave the team the space to find the right path. They didn't kill the project when the roadmap changed. They believed the builders would figure it out. That patience is what kept Ethereum alive. Not the technology. The community. ─── We made a different bet. We bet on execution sharding from day one and we never left that path. Adaptive state sharding shipped on mainnet in 2020. Three execution shards plus a metachain. State, network, transactions - all sharded from genesis. Supernova shipped this year. Consensus decoupled from execution. 600ms blocks. achieved 88ms finality. 120,000 TPS burst mode on the same validator hardware. 3,200+ validators on consumer-grade machines. 171,000 commits. #6 in the entire industry. Ahead of Solana, Avalanche, Sui, Polygon, Aptos, and TON. Tier-one infrastructure providers on board, distribution partners like Cointelegraph are running validator nodes. Stripe's Machine Payments Protocol is settling on MultiversX. EGLD is named in an Arizona state strategic reserve bill. The agentic commerce stack - x402, MPP, MX-8004, UCP, ACP, MCP - is live on one chain. xMoney is building regulated stablecoin issuance under MiCA. The infrastructure underneath has never been stronger. ─── And yet the market prices EGLD like none of this exists. Every blockchain community is going through the same thing right now. EGLD is down. ETH is down. SOL is down. The market doesn't differentiate between chains that shipped paradigm-shifting infrastructure and chains that shipped a landing page. First, thank you for the trust 🙏 Second, I do not work at xMoney directly, so I have limited insight. Take this as an unhinged opinion piece, and nothing more. Web3 is a paradoxical space: on one hand you have cypherpunks, communities, decentralisation, ideology, etc. On the other hand you have the big fish, VCs, ETFs, institutions, all that. They pull in different directions. The space is dominated by the big fish nowadays, and the most successful projects are the ones who took the fat VC money and threw it around in partnerships and "marketing" liberally. We're talking millions. I kinda hate that, but it is what it is. MultiversX started with a small investment, a lot of the founders' personal savings, a cypherpunk spirit, and an amazing tech team, willing to work their asses off for comparatively peanuts. That is still our superpower, when it comes to tech. We can ship top tech, cheaper and faster than anyone else. BUT! The main challenge with xMoney isn't technical. If it was technical, we would long have had it all sorted out. The challenge is legal, and with regulation. You can't tech your way through this one. You need patience, legal teams, and investments. This is the non-IT world, where things are still slow and expensive. And if you get investments, you need to give something to investors. Retail alone can't fund this (I think). The upside is, if money starts flowing in, everyone should be better off in the end, dilution or not. "Grow the pie", right? The product is really valuable, once it starts really shining, xMoney will become a top player in the space, and the community/holders will benefit as well. And more importantly, actual revenue will start flowing in, something very rare nowadays. It's a bold move, but I don't think there is a safer route. People need to understand that now is the time to get payments and governments on board, no matter the cost. In a few years it will be too late. And the fact that XMN is launched on Sui first is irrelevant for the average user. It's going to end up everywhere anyway. The future is multi-chain. The best tech shall win in the end, but the regular user won't care. While we debate blockchain vs. blockchain, adoption is still far far from where it should. So keep building, focus on tbe essential, keep the faith, godspeed. Remember we're all just as invested as you guys. I, for one, am way less diversified than I should 😅 I'm all in on EGLD, there is no plan B. If you lose, we lose. If we win, you win as well. There is a plan, there is a process. When feeling discouraged, remember that we'll be fighting to the end no matter what. That I can promise you.
