My Nigerian friends invite me to chill and eat together. Listening to Afrobeats while sharing homemade jollof rice and coconut rice; visiting 1010/ Happy Home for Nigerian dishes like egusi and banga soup. They sometimes serve rice for those not used to fufu/ eba.

In Korea, we have to pay to throw trash and food waste. You buy your trash bags from convenient stores for “regular” and “food” trash. In apartment complexes, you have a trash disposal that weighs your waste to be charged to your unit.

Sometimes I get annoyed on our recycle day each week after work that I have to separate the paper from the glass jars or plastic from boxes and fold them neatly but I know this is better for the environment so it’ll feel weird not doing it either.
