The brutality inflicted by Israel on the Palestinians in the last two years brought tears to my eyes several times. Very hard, as a human, to be insensitive to so much suffering, daily massacres, relentless destruction.

The scandal over this photo perfectly reflects so many accusations of antisemitism. In this case, a photo captures exactly how a settler looks, and the magazine is condemned as antisemitic because his appearance supposedly is identical to “caricatures.” Meanwhile, when criticizing Israel, you can accurately describe exactly what it does with extensive sources and proof, and they call you hateful because the actions may align with antisemitic “tropes.” Instead of condemning Israel for manifesting the worst antisemitic stereotypes, they say doing so is hateful.
