until coding agents became popular, i used to hack around with ideas as weekend side projects. most of them never made it to a live site and there are probably 100s of private repos that only ever lived on localhost. over time, even my spending habits changed. i started investing in domains, aws, databases, books, paid ides, cli tools and anything that helped me build faster earlier meetings were discussions over wireframes or maybe a rough figma. today, PMs walk into calls with working prototypes that actually convey their ideas clearly. yes, they are vibe coded but to me it feels like going to a barber with a picture and saying, this is exactly the style i want i couldn’t have imagined that one day probabilistic models would power work directly tied to revenue. customers are bringing in use cases that even teams with 10–15 years of experience hadn’t thought of. this phase feels rare and it may not come again in the same way as AI becomes more widespread the cost of trying ideas has collapsed. what earlier needed a team, design passes and weeks of effort can now be explored in hours. taste and judgment matter more now, not less. AI can help you create faster, but deciding what is worth building, what feels right and what should go live is still human work customers are becoming co-inventors of products. as ai lowers the cost of experimentation, users are shaping workflows and product directions that teams would have never imagined before we are entering a phase where your thought process is more valuable than any single skill
