Our team is preparing to respond to Hurricane Laura, expected to come ashore in SW Louisiana as a major hurricane. As we approach the anniversary of Hurricanes Rita and Katrina we are reminded of the importance of community when it comes to supporting others impacted by disaster

We are grateful to Bentley & Company for their $50,000 gift for our summer matching gift challenge. Thanks to their support and so many other donors, this campaign has helped provide 400,000 meals to people in need in South Louisiana.

As we continue to monitor the situation in the Gulf, our staff is prepared year-round to respond to any emergency impacting South Louisiana, as well as to the everyday disaster of hunger. Thank you for your support that makes this possible.

In addition to responding to the everyday disaster of hunger, 2ndHarvest prepares year-round to respond to other emergencies impacting our communities. With hurricane season here, our staff volunteers are more prepared than ever to respond to any disaster impacting South La.

The mid-week large distribution of emergency food will be Wed., July 22, at 346 Civic Center Blvd. in Houma from 9-noon. Also remember, if you or someone you know is in need of food ,please call 211. This non-emergency number will help locate a pantry near you.

Thanks to our partners and volunteers, we helped 369 households with boxes of groceries and 800 youth meals from @2ndHarvestGNOA, 1500 meals from @CafeReconcile and @parranspoorboys, thanks to @WCKitchen, and masks.
