@njtestingradar I've started trying to insert quotes or quips (data points & info that aren't necessarily quotes into my lessons. Though I seem to keep forgetting :) #satcat

A3: I don’t necessarily find inspiration in quotes themselves but from music lyrics. Music always helps change my mood or brings me back to a different time or place. I had a colleague who would say “Rock and Roll” and it got me going. #satchat

@Princ_Fields To me, the timing and tone of what you say are more important than the words. Being there and present in the moment is key.

Music also keeps me going and inspired. The radio in my office stays on Klove!

@JohnMattingly23 Candid is good as long as the response is not offensive or leads to no further dialogue. A good book is Getting to Yes.

@njtestingradar I feel like speaking candid and speaking truth is refreshing and what people need and want (even if hard) to hear…and it is valued and respected because it’s about what’s making us better!

@Corey_Cohen10 @pammoran Follow through doesn’t necessarily happen overnight but good leaders communicate in a variety of ways to keep all parties informed of the progress such as newsletters, board meetings, principal meetings, faculty meetings, etc. I believe we need more face to face contact.

@alisonstoneCBSD Agreed. Some things prior to the pandemic weren’t too rosy but I think educators learned that humans need humans. Rituals and routines, and connecting with people in person is better than through a screen.

A3: Refitting and retooling your staff. Promote lifelong learning and pathways to advancement therefore reducing teacher turnover. This could also include meaningful conversations with staff throughout the year asking them about their career goals. #satchat

A1: We have student teachers come into our schools and keep them abreast of openings. We also have placed an emphasis on supporting paraprofessionals and parents to become certified teachers as a part of our Five-Year Strategic Plan. #satchat

A3: Aspiring educators are interviewing us just as much as we are interviewing them. We must showcase our very best when meeting with candidates. It’s important to highlight the school’s culture, support systems, & opportunities for growth as well. #satchat
