A message to Josh Harris:
I’ve been a Redskins fans since I was a kid in the ‘60s, when Billy Kilmer and Sonny Jurgenson were the QBs. This team means the world to me. I was heartbroken when that Snyder fellow was doing all he could to destroy my team. He never managed to get me to stop loving and supporting them, however. I couldn’t understand the reason the name was being changed. I understand that there is no stigma among Native Americans with the name Redskins. They are actually PROUD of the name. Then when they announced the new name Commanders, I was lost. Snyder totally ignored the fanbase!
I omitted another long rant here.
I was thrilled with our last season. Amazing young man there who took the whole team on his back and all the way to the NFC Championship! The future is looking bright. This new owner seems to have it well in hand unlike the previous owner. It’s time to give the loyal fanbase back their history and change the name back. Commanders was a ridiculous placeholder but it’s time to give the fans back the name that we love. Then Harris announces the new name is here to stay. He’s not listening. Does the fanbase really mean so little to him? There is a rich history with this team that is being left behind. They might as well take those three trophies out of the case and bury them with our old name. Heaven forbid. This is what so many grew up with. Sure there are some new fans now. Great! But the vast majority of the fans are Redskins fans! Don’t take away our hope to see that beautiful logo on our teams helmets again. I will be singing the real fight song and calling my team the Redskins until my dying day! Hail To The Redskins!
