There’s really nothing Mets can do right now but hope to hit better and hope to get healthier The pitching is good enough for them to be a playoff team The hitting is bad enough for them to be a last place team And most of that falls on David Stearns

@bu99s @IHNYC3 @Jolly_Olive In two seasons, Stearns will have taken a team that was in the NLCS and turned them into a team that’s missed the playoffs twice. To say nothing of letting guys like Alonso leave with no plan in place to replace them. He’s destroyed this team in record time.

@IHNYC3 @Jolly_Olive I’d be fine with Stearns getting terminated, but at some point Mets fans and this entire organization need to have a reality check. Dynasties don’t happen overnight. Someone needs to be given 5 years to rebuild this org. GM swapping and WS rushing is detrimental.

@matt_NJD @blairzyp_ There is a faction of Devils twitter, led by one fool in particular, who wouldn’t trade Jesper Bratt for Connor McDavid and unironically think Bratt is the better player.

I always thought devils twitter was fairly unbiased. Sure some people overvalued our guys a little. But never did I think I’d see the day where people are unironically and very seriously saying Nico is more valuable than Auston Matthews, and that Nico brings so much more (faceoffs?) than Matthews It’s so insane it’s hard to fathom. Forget every GM in the league who would absolutely take that 1 for 1 deal. Forget the fact that THE ONE measuring stick the hockey world uses to assess value is salary, in which Matthews makes a full $6M more. You’re telling me you watch the games, you look at the stats, even the analytics (of which tell a story where Nico is very much overrated by our fanbase), and you genuinely would rather have Nico than a top 5 center in the game? And if you bring up injuries, then you have to think a TON of players are more valuable than Jack Hughes. LGD

Wouldn’t mind the 12th overall pick being traded but goodness this team has an ass prospect pool right now. Either go all in and trade it or get a decent player with the pick. When a tall defensive Russian D-man question mark is your #1 prospect, that isn’t great.

I could not help but notice the contrast between the 2 press conferences. Devils and Leafs both had nightmare seasons, but Sunny was welcomed with smiles and warmth, while Chayka was met with a stank eye and vitriol. I don’t get why anyone would want to work or play in Toronto.
