It’s always interesting how society looks at single mothers and asks ‘what did she do wrong?’ but looks at absent fathers and says ‘well he probably had his reasons.’ motherhood gets scrutinized while fatherhood gets excused

In Kruger National Park, South Africa, veteran ranger Sipho Nkosi suffered a heart attack while on solo patrol. His vehicle was found empty, and search teams began looking for him.
What the park’s remote trail cameras revealed broke the hearts of everyone who saw the footage.
An old bull elephant — known to rangers as “Mnumzane” (Zulu for “Sir”) — had found Sipho’s body. For three full days and nights, the elephant refused to leave. He stood guard, gently touching the ranger with his trunk, chasing away hyenas and jackals that came too close, and even covering parts of the body with branches and leaves.
On the third night, the elephant was still there — visibly grieving, swaying slowly beside his fallen friend. Only when the full recovery team arrived with vehicles did Mnumzane finally step back, watching solemnly as they carried Sipho away.
Park officials later confirmed that Sipho had rescued this same elephant as a calf years earlier after poachers killed his mother. The elephant had never forgotten.
One colleague who viewed the footage whispered:
“He didn’t come to say goodbye. He came to make sure no one disrespected his brother.”
Mnumzane still visits the exact spot regularly. Rangers now leave fresh water and fruit there in honor of both.

The same thing actually happens with fashion too. Sewing and liking fashion are seen as feminine activities, but 99% of the great designers are men. It's only "a girl's thing" if she's not financially rewarded for it.

@ibti_16 Despicable, we are going to liberate Africa- it’s going to take a while but these settlers will go back to wherever they came from. These monsters betrayed the hospitality we laid at their feet, as Africans we must be very violently aggressive towards the savages

@ibti_16 That photo is a brutal reminder that colonial violence wasn’t “civilizing” anything. Human beings were tortured, exploited, and treated as property while Europe called it progress.

@sikimsuseni @Nozi_me SA writers should portray this for young girls. Not all the fucking slay queens we see daily on TV.
We are tired of the lazy productions the kids are exposed to 😡

This country is absolutely drowning in toxic negativity! There are thousands of good news stories, regularly, in different spaces and platforms. But negativity sells! We amplify the negative stories more, from politics to communities!🤦🏿♂️
