As I once said before, the change on the specific detail like turtleneck sleeves to short one is due to adaptation with the recent style of highschool baseball itself.
Daiya no Ace was made & published around 2006, when most of highschool baseball players wears long-turtleneck sleeves even in the middle of the scorching summer (though some are also wears short one). And when the first season of the anime aired, most of them still wears the same type of sleeve.
But since 2015 until now, most of the players starting to use a slimmer & shorter sleeves along with adjusting the jersey's size into fitting one instead of the loose one. And with how the distance between the latest season (2019) and the newest season (2026) are far apart, tj-sensei aware with how the modern baseball progressing especially on their jersey design.
Adapting into the modern style to caught up to the recent trends is common and creating a familiarity on the audience's perspective (since most of the audience are Japanese who already familiar with highschool baseball even though they didn't follow the topic at all)

Apparently in Act 2 SS the change from high neck shirts to low neck was because TJ wanted to match with what players are mostly wearing irl so he himself asked them to do it 🤔
