Last year, the city of Austin turned off their Flock cameras as the result of a targeted misinformation campaign. This weekend, for nearly 24 hours, three suspects drove around Austin in stolen vehicles, undetected, conducting a shooting spree at 12 separate locations. They shot multiple people, houses, apartment buildings, businesses, and fire stations. They committed multiple robberies and car thefts during the spree. Despite a full manhunt involving 200 officers, with helicopter and K9 support, they weren't able to locate the suspects, and the spree continued. Luckily, the suspects drove into the Flock-supported city of Manor, TX. Manor is a small city with ~20k residents, and a fraction of Austin's budget. What they do have is modern technology and the ability not to fall victim to misinformation campaigns. After the suspects drove into Manor to continue their shooting spree, Manor PD located them almost immediately. The residents of Manor stayed safe. This is a tale of two cities. I love Austin. I have plenty of friends who live there. I myself almost moved there years ago. I'm glad that the shooting spree is over, but I just wish it never happened.

How many of the 39 pastors who signed this letter would also want a White House who DOESN'T believe life begin at conception or that churches should have been closed during the pandemic must also be empowered to vet and approve AI algorithms? What safeguards should exist to prevent a future White House motivated by Project 1619 only approves woke models? Is this what those pastors want? Did they know what they were signing onto?

This is utter ignorance. The original PPP bill wasn’t actually helping small businesses impacted by the lockdowns. Chip Roy came out with a fix, after talking to thousands of small business owners, to get more value and function out of the bill that had already passed.
If Amuse had any idea what he was talking about he’d thank Chip for helping to fix the original bill to make it more functionally helpful to small business owners and apologize to millions of small business owners.

TEXAS AG RACE: The only bill Chip Roy passed while in Congress will piss you off. Chip Roy’s 2020 Paycheck Protection Program Flexibility Act expanded PPP loans and made them easier to forgive. His co-sponsor was Democrat Dean Philips. Over $760B in loans were forgiven under the program.

If you’re serious about solving the problems in America, you must read the thread below. Yes, New Orleans is a northern Caribbean city as much as it is American. But, much of the culture described here is (or was recently) in varying degrees through out the DEEP-deep-south. It’s not isolated.
I tell people often that where I grew up in LA (lower Alabama) is more NOLA than it is ATL. Yes, it’s decidedly more culturally Anglo than NOLA, and absolutely more Protestant, but the cultural impact of NOLA is underestimated. There are obvious things, like small town Mardi Gras parades. But there’s also deeper influence like race relations. Race just wasn’t as big a deal, especially from 1980 through Katrina.
This NOLA culture has sweet medicine for the current ailments of the USA. Anyone serious about solving American problems should familiarize.

One of my earliest memories as a Senate staffer was attempting to share an education reform idea with a @LamarAlexander aide. I was parked in a conference room to wait where I noted walls decorated with awards from groups like the NEA.
Lamar Alexander represents all that is broken about modern conservatism. If he’s bothered by the rise of Donald Trump, he should look in a mirror and ask how many ways he failed his constituents during his lengthy career.
