Der Zürcher @tagesanzeiger hat gestern einen Podcast mit dem folgenden Teaser veröffentlicht: "Der 1. Mai prägt bis heute die politische Linke. Zwischen Krawallen, politischer Tradition und einfach einem freien Tag stellt sich die Frage, wofür der Tag der Arbeit heute noch steht." Unter dem Teaser ist ein altes Plakat zu sehen, auf welchem "Wir Gipser streiken für den 8 Stundentag" steht. Meines Erachtens ist die Frage falsch gestellt. Besser wäre die Frage: "Die politische Linke - im Besonderen die Sozialdemokratie - stand einst für die Rechte der Arbeitnehmerinnen und Arbeitnehmer. Heute stellt sich die Frage, wofür die politische Linke noch steht." Was die Bevölkerungen von westlichen Staaten gestern auf den Strassen sehen konnten, hat nur noch sehr bedingt mit der Wahrung der Rechte der arbeitenden Bevölkerung zu tun. Ich schreibe "sehr bedingt", weil ich differenziert argumentieren will. Es ist nicht so, dass das ursprüngliche Thema komplett verschwunden ist. Vereinzelt geht es immer noch um die Rechte der Arbeitnehmerinnen und Arbeitnehmer. Im Grossen und Ganzen ist das aber mittlerweile ein Randthema. Das unten zu sehende Video illustriert sehr schön, wofür die heutigen Linken hauptsächlich stehen: - Support für den palästinensischen Nationalismus, dessen Ursprünge unmittelbar mit Nationalsozialismus verknüpft sind, der auf die Auslöschung Israels von der Landkarte ausgerichtet ist. - Support für dschihadistische Terrororganisationen wie die Hamas oder die Hisbollah. - Support des islamofaschistischen Mullah Regimes (zu beobachten etwa in Wien oder in New York, wo entsprechende Fahnen geschwenkt wurden). - Hass gegen den Westen und die westliche Zivilisation, der mit der Liebe zur postkolonialen Ideologie besonders gut zum Ausdruck kommt. - Förderung der Transideologie und der quasireligiöse Glaube, dass es mehr als zwei Geschlechter gebe. - Sympathien für die linksradikale, rassistische und genozidal-antisemitische Hate Group "Black Lives Matter", was von den Linken als "Kampf gegen den Rassismus" wahrgenommen wird. - Hass gegen das Gewerbe und Kleingewerbe, der am 1. Mai damit zum Ausdruck kommt, dass man Schaufenster und teilweise sogar Ladengeschäfte beschädigt. Betroffen sind nicht nur Grosskonzerne wie Banken, sondern vielmehr auch eher kleine Leute wie Buchhändler und damit auch der Mittelstand. - Hass gegen die Polizei, weil diese die öffentliche Ordnung schützt, die man als Linker zerstören will. Am 1. Mai werden Polizisten beschimpft und angegriffen. In den übrigen Tagen des Jahres fordert man deren Abschaffung. - Hass gegen die künstliche Intelligenz und Technologie-Firmen (was man gestern hier in Zürich sehen konnte) u.v.m. Im Ergebnis offenbart der 1. Mai auf eine für alle sichtbare Art und Weise den Grund, warum viele Menschen von der arbeitenden Bevölkerung nicht mehr links wählen. Und damit stellt sich die Frage, ob die Bezeichnung "Tag der Arbeit" für den 1. Mai heute noch zutrifft.

Zelensky's anti-Israel tantrums are deeply embarrassing. What is the strategy here? Sure, moral puritans on the left will be very happy to say "Oh but stolen grain" but let the rest of us take a moment to ration the facts of this horror show: First, he supports Israel's allies in the Middle East with drones, gaining many friends in the process, and now he turns to create a public rift, losing Ukraine all the friends he had managed to make over the past several months? What is the net benefit for the Ukrainian war effort, and specifically, how does this forward the information front? He could have "protested" in private to the same result. He WANTS this to be a show, for whatever ridiculous reason. We need to face the reality that there is no cohesion in Zelensky's actions, and the sooner he and his advisors are removed from the Presidency of Ukraine, the better.

@Osint613 I am 100% pro Ukraine and certainly against buying stolen goods. But this orchestrated anti-Israel OP is starting to erode my support. Instead of using diplomatic and existing law enforcement channels the situation is being used for an online hate campaign.

I think Israel could have handled the Ukraine situation better. If it is true that Israel is buying grain from Russia’s occupied areas of Ukraine, Israel should have simply responded: thank you for flagging this, we are looking into it and it will be addressed. Even if Ukraine raised it through Twitter and not in the best way, and even if Ukraine does not publicly call out other countries like Egypt for buying sanctioned Russian grain, Israel could have been the grown up in the room and said: no worries, we got it, we are on it.

Haben die Umgebung und die Menschen nicht korrekt beobachtet, haben sich nicht schützend zwischen den Angreifer und Herrn Pahlavi gestellt, haben keine geplanten Fluchtwege freigehalten. Der festgenommene Mann vor der Bundespressekonferenz befindet sich aktuell zur erkennungsdienstlichen Behandlung in einem Polizeigewahrsam. Er hatte weder Akkreditierung noch Presseausweis dabei und ist bisher polizeilich nicht in Erscheinung getreten. Gegen ihn werden Ermittlungsverfahren wegen Körperverletzung, Sachbeschädigung und Beleidigung gegen Personen des politischen Lebens eingeleitet. Ein Anschlussgewahrsam für heute wird geprüft. Unsere Einsatzkräfte wurden sensibilisiert und die Sicherheitsmaßnahmen für den Gast nochmal angepasst. #b2304
