@MattMorseTV Note, the Homeric poems were originally orally passed down. It is estimated that they were retold for approximately 700 years before it was first written (at least that’s what I remember from college!)

@MattMorseTV There’s actually archaeological evidence in the levels of Troy associated with time of the Trojan War that suggests it was sacked/pillaged. An event akin to the Trojan War likely happened and the poems of Homer retell that story, albeit with 700 years of embellishments
