@nofo @wongmjane @FamousAspect You not being able to afford a particular NFT has nothing to do with this new policy. No feature is token gated here. Apple will continue to have no issue with Twitter blue and its users ability to use assets (they own) as a profile picture.

@eric_seufert This might kill blockchain utility on mobile apps and games. For example Twitter is in violation because you need an NFT to unlock the hexagon profile pictures.

Apple has update its App Store guidelines to require that social media post “boosts” be purchased as IAPs, entitling Apple to 30% of that advertising revenue. This is new as of iOS 16.1, which was released today

@yaikan_eth @wongmjane @FamousAspect I have Twitter Blue I understand what it is. The point you are not understanding is that you need a BAYC NFT to unlock it as your profile picture. If Twitter Blue allowed you to set any photo as a hexagon PFP then you would be correct, but it does not, you need the actual NFT.

Using a BAYC PFP specifically is not a Twitter feature. Nothing is stopping you or anyone from paying for Twitter blue and having access to NFT PFP

@neiltyson @michaelshermer Your vegetarian argument does not make sense. Best way to reduce plant consumption is to eat plants rather than animals. In fact most of our crop land goes to livestock because of how inefficient livestock is verse eating plants directly.
