no real advice to give but here's a western painting channel I recommend for tips and tricks if you look through their channel hopefully the subtitles work ;)
@non_aaaaru If you think about control and contrast you will greatly improve:
push shadows darker
push highlights brighter
be more intentional with placement
Think about the material of what you're painting and how it reflects the light
Always paint your rocks. I know it sounds silly, why paint a rock to look like a rock? Trust me, the shading, tone, and overall look of real rocks betrays the fact that they are pebbles and sand and not hefty boulders. They need shade and highlights, just like miniatures do.
Fortunately it’s very easy to do and can be accomplished simply by quickly dry brushing about two or three shades of progressively lighter color over a black base.
@non_aaaaru Never be afraid of experimenting or even failing. Look up ideas and tutorials if you have to. Everyone started somewhere. Some of these were from when I started over 20 years ago, and still working to improve. Don’t let it intimidate you. Keep up the good work!
@non_aaaaru Those are incredibly well done. I have painted a few raptors, but back when I was still learning, and they were a moderately difficult model to paint! Great work!
