1/ I’ve been invested and obsessed with ETH since April 2016, but outside of MKR I’ve lurked and missed out on all the successful ERC20s, defi, and NFTs since then. Yesterday I made my first NFT purchase ever - 21 4digit.eth domains bought for 40Ξ along with 10Ξ sold for taxes.

I can share this now as I’m through it, I spent all of 2023 suicidal, due to losing every $ we made from DFZ, it was not a traditional ‘loss’, we reinvested every dollar & sold every NFT we owned to fund new dev, yet nothing worked & our movie was canceled during strikes 😞 (1/2)

Thomas Sowell denounces Trump’s tariffs. I had assumed Sowell was too old to still make public appearances. I like the idea that Trump’s policies are so stupid they shocked him back to life.

@FAFOFarmsTX @peta @SleepyPanda666 Thank you, is that because you think artificial insemination is wrong? I’ve heard vegans say AI is quite common, but glad to see you don’t do it. I’ve never seen your brand in HEB, do you sell in Texas? Does your farm produce as much milk as HEB or hill country farm?

Bonus take: One thing I'd like to emphasise: there are *people* behind the current network, who spent the past 5 (CL) or 10 (EL) years building #Ethereum. Any proposal should take into account how it affects them personally. We need our builders, don't alienate them.

@TimBeiko Decentralized money. And I mean money that is actually used as medium of exchange and unit of account (and of course independent to the $). But we will give it a shot: @aboutcircles !

I often wonder if I'm in the wrong industry. Take SpaceX for example. They send a rocket to Mars? Humanity advances. They fail to send one and blow it up? Humanity learns a lesson and advances. All outcomes lead to progress. In contrast, crypto is a damn casino for dum-dums (apologies to the select few). Number go up? Yay, when lambo. Number go down? Lives get wrecked. Where's the contribution to humanity? Yes, it takes time to "build a new monetary system". For sure... but how about we make a few useful things along the way? Everyone is so focused on becoming the next V that nobody wants to build useful stuff, everyone's in it for value extraction. I don't really see *why* this system should not collapse? What would we lose in the grand scheme of things? All crypto achieved was a huge value transfer, but I fail to see any value creation thus far. Mind you, making it big by luck and moving your funds into some non crypto venture is not a success story for crypto. It at best is a success story for a philanthropic lucky person, but more likely a simple diversification of said person. IMO it's past time this industry creates something genuinely useful that people want to use, or should just close up shop. Bitcoin at least tries (and fails) to be a safe haven asset. But the rest are all selling shovels with no gold rush in sight.

Ethereum won't continue to succeed if it turns its back on decentralisation. Nor will it succeed if the technology doesnt advance and for that it needs centralised aspects. Ethereum's continued success relies on this fine balance. Nothing else like it exists in crypto. Not even close. It needs to retain these unique features for it to remain relevant and to keep crypto as a whole honest. To achieve what its meant. The Trons, EOSs, Tezos, Solanas, Cardanos, Avalanches, Polkadots etc will come and go and their short term profit focused supporters will shout about speed or cheaper gas prices but so far theyve not competed on being both decentralised and advancing the space. We have the EVM itself to achieve different and unique versions to focus on different goals. If Ethereum ever does veer away from what had me become a supporter in the first place, then I will quite happily exit. I doubt that will happen tbh but we do need to keep it honest by calling out potentially bad pathways. I hope this space keeps attracting the likes of @peter_szilagyi to carry the torch for this very important economic technology ('techonomics' anyone?)

Every time I challenge the direction #Ethereum is taking, I'm told off for being alarmist; nasty towards researchers, etc. So, I have a solution: call "your researcher" now and ask them to explain exactly how they envision the Ethereum network to look like in 5 years.

PeerDAS is the direction #Ethereum is being taken into with the next forks, with the aim to raise (not immediately) the blobs up to a staggering 32MB. That's fun, but are we aware that local block production is collateral damage that the PeerDAS authors are willing to take?

We’re still on track for a monster second half of 2024 for Ethereum More fuel for the fire, while we purge the ETHE outflows and endure a macro selloff: 1. The institutional ETH marketing machine is roaring 2. Volumes are surging 3. ETH price is just copying BTC post-ETF (1/7)
Vivek Raman@VivekVentures

We are about to see the perfect storm of upside catalysts for ETH In hindsight, the second half of 2024 will be the most obvious bullish setup for the Ethereum ecosystem in recent history Three headwinds that have held ETH back will become tailwinds, starting this week: (1/9)

This is a fair criticism of Ethereum and basically my biggest concern atm It's great that blobspace update scaled Ethereum by magnitudes. But you can't have L2's using ETH security and settlement basically for free. Blobspace is severely underpriced and ETH is missing out on a lot of burn to it. Blob base fee should be way higher, or it should be dynamically adjusted with demand

$ETH is so far ahead of everything else in crypto that pundits have decided to attack it on the basis that it is "highly inflationary" because net issuance has gone up since the Dencun update (as predicted). Here's what they are not telling you: 1. $ETH still has a higher S2F ratio than $BTC. 2. $ETH offers native yield, which $BTC lacks. 3. $ETH has no structural selling from miners, which is as important as issuance metrics. 4. $ETH's cash flow is more than 2.5 times higher than $BTC's. 5. $BTC's 21M cap is NOT unconditional. Miners are heavily subsidized by issuance. Over the past week, issuance accounted for ~96% of miners' revenue. Over the past year, there were peaks of over 99% issuance subsidy. 6. $SOL's annualized issuance is currently around 10 times higher than $ETH's. 7. $ETH has managed to stay net deflationary since the merge went live 2 years ago. 8. The reduction of $ETH burn, resulting in higher net issuance, was predictable. It will recover over time, and despite all the FUD, $ETH will remain the most scarce institutional-grade asset in crypto. 9. $ETH L2s have been the fastest growing networks in crypto over the past year. This trend will continue and L2 adoption will gradually bring the burn back up. 10. We knew $ETH's burn was going down, and that haters would be using it as material for fud. What they are not doing is providing you with all this context. x.com/AdrianoFeria/s…
