@JournoJones05 Will never forget being turned away from my hospital with some painkillers because I was “probably pregnant”. I went back two hours later because the painkillers had made the abdominal cramps I’d gone for in the first place even worse. I had a kidney infection.

Right. That’s me just about done with NHS workers. These last three weeks have been so stressful, and most of that is due to them. A relative had been throwing up one night, and after that she couldn’t eat, had extreme pains in her back and chest, was constipated, couldn’t move basically anywhere, and was extremely weak for about 8 days before we told her to phone 111 (she kept saying it was food poisoning). She got directed to the leading Norfolk Covid doctor, who told her it ‘sounded like Covid,’ to take a test and self-isolate for two-weeks if positive, and suggested taking co-codamol. If she had tested positive, she would have died. Why? Because she had a rupture in her heart, resulting in internal bleeding. She’s just got out of the hospital after a week, and has been temporarily put on about 15 different types of medication. Yesterday morning, someone else I know woke up, and couldn’t breathe properly at all. We’ve thought that there has been something wrong for a while, but they had never gone to the doctors. Today, they experienced it again, and so went to the hospital early this morning. Waited 4 hours, just to be told that it “sounded like indigestion.” No tests, no scans, no X-rays. Got sent home. Only to later on have the exact same issue, and be taken back to hospital to have the necessary scans and tests. Free access to healthcare is a wonderful thing for the people in my opinion, and I am more than happy for my tax to go towards helping others who have extreme health issues, of which they haven’t the control over. However.. It seems that rather than treating people with the respect and importance that they deserve during such awful times, they try to get you away from their facilities as soon as possible. It isn’t a shock that we have our elderly dying at such a rapid rate, when they are being told that their symptoms are a sign of Covid, and to take tests. If that test had come back positive, she would have been dead. We wouldn’t have been allowed to check up on my relative - the doctor didn’t even suggest going to the hospital if it was negative. “Just take some co-codamol.” It seems that it is no longer about care, but rather getting you diagnosed with anything just to get rid of you. And this is, in my opinion, a massive reason as to why so many people go untreated for serious illnesses - the wait times, the fear of being misdiagnosed, and the complete lack of care from the doctors that we have. Thank you for listening to this little rant. I am so angry with the service that these two people have received.
