But the ship has a magic blanket on its bottom (called heat shield). This blanket is made to burn on purpose and turn into smoke. It says to the hot fire: “Take me instead!” So the hot fire eats the blanket, not the people inside. Inside, the boys are sitting cool, drinking juice, like in an air-conditioned matatu. The radio stops talking for a few minutes? That’s normal. The hot air becomes like a magic wall that blocks the radio, like when you go behind a big hill and your phone has no signal. Then it comes back. After all the rubbing, the ship is now slow. Big umbrellas (parachutes) open... whoosh! It floats down gently and splashes into the sea like a happy duck. So... A bullet hits something hard and stops in one second that’s why it hurts. The spaceship hits soft thin air for many many minutes and slows down gently. Not the same thing at all. So a bullet shreds flesh instantly but a human in a metal flask can hit the atmosphere at 10× that speed, turn into a flying fireball, lose signal, cook the outside to hell and still land like it’s a beach holiday? But yeah… “trust the heat shield.” After this make sure you get your booster to fry your brain further
