For a second night in a row, Stephen Colbert criticized CBS, after he said the network barred him from broadcasting his interview with Democratic Texas State Representative James Talarico on Monday, citing the FCC’s “equal time rule.”
In a statement, CBS, which airs Colbert’s “The Late Show,” said the show “was not prohibited by CBS from broadcasting the interview,” adding that the show “was provided legal guidance that the broadcast could trigger” the FCC’s rule “for two other candidates," adding “'The Late Show' decided to present the interview through its YouTube channel...rather than potentially providing the equal-time options.”
