A WC fullback cannot just slot into central midfield because the central positions are more congested, faster in decision making, and leave less margin for error. Every mistake is more exposed. Very very few players have mastered both FB and Midfield position for a reason.

Everything you said is complete opposite . Despite the evolution and reinvention of fullback role , themidfield role whether your 6 or 8 is still the most tactically and technically demanding . A world class midfielder can theoretically play as a fb but vice-versa is not . 1/2
