Productive discussion with H.E. Minister Haneen Sayed on ensuring displaced people across Lebanon receive the support they need. Strong coordination between @Save_Children, national partners, and the Government of Lebanon is essential as humanitarian needs continue to rise.

Norway’s decision to prohibit the marketing of unhealthy foods and beverages to children is a commendable step toward reducing overweight and obesity and protecting young people from serious conditions, such as heart disease, diabetes, and cancer. According to the the WHO European Childhood Obesity Surveillance Initiative, more than one in five school‑aged children in Norway are currently living with overweight or obesity. الرئيس جوزاف عون استقبل وفدًا من منظمة "Save the Children". وخلال اللقاء، تم عرض نشاطات المنظمة في لبنان في ظل الحرب المستمرة والأزمة الراهنة، حيث تجاوز عدد النازحين المليون شخص، فيما سقط أكثر من 100 طفل ضحية التصعيد. وقدّم الوفد لمحة عن برامج المنظمة التي تركز على دعم الأطفال في مجالات التعليم، والرعاية الصحية، والحماية، إضافةً إلى استجابتها لتلبية احتياجات العائلات المتضررة والنازحة في مختلف المناطق. وأكد الجانبان أهمية استمرار التنسيق بين الجهات المعنية والمنظمات الدولية، بما يساهم في تأمين الدعم اللازم للأطفال والعائلات الأكثر هشاشة في هذه المرحلة الدقيقة. وشدّد الرئيس عون على ضرورة تكثيف الجهود لحماية الأطفال، وضمان استمرارية تعليمهم، وتأمين احتياجاتهم الأساسية في ظل هذه الظروف الاستثنائية.

Today I had the pleasure to meet Lebanese President Joseph Aoun & discussed the staggering humanitarian toll of this war on children. With 1 mln pple displaced & 100+ children killed, the situation is critical. There's urgent need of safe access to shelter, education, protection.
