@ForestOfWhales @QuietPineTrees Sunken ships are pretty clearly lost or abandoned, but I'm surprised that the Forest King would argue in favour of the Queen of Glass. Maybe it's just a matter of principle. Happy to see it if that's what he's doing, either way! Though maybe he just thinks that wrecks are wild.

This isn’t your forest. The ground is rocky, as though the trees burst up through some giant slab of granite. You don’t recognize the birdsong, or the patches of darkness swimming through the undergrowth. You hear music from what you think is north, water to the south.

I know you think about it. Some of you send me messages about it. So, I wanted to ask the audience in general. What’s your favorite potential ship? Alternatives are accepted and encouraged. This is just for fun, but I also appreciate the insight.

@ForestOfWhales I'm surprised that really liking her is so low. I know these reasons aren't mutually exclusive, but if I'm the only one (as of the time of this reply) who chose that one as the most significant for the decision, it makes me wonder if I missed something.

Okay, it’s been a couple of days. Let’s settle this debate. Why did you vote to help Nerii?

@ForestOfWhales @QuietPineTrees I'm not really sure what's going on, but my first interpretation is that this world's Forest Queen just came out as trans. Admittedly, it's not the likeliest scenario.

@QuietPineTrees The Lord Captain hesitates. The giant made of coiled rope and wire takes a tender step forward. “No…” The veiled figure drops from the door, and lands softly beside you. “Ballad,” he gasps. “No. You’re…” “In mourning,” she finishes for him. “And… it’s The Forest Queen, now.”

@QuietPineTrees @manhole_s has been working on modelling how that would turn out, though with a bit more optimism.

Space colonies found that, with a monopoly on spaceport access and large-scale antennas, they could tightly control what information reached their populations. Even old ideas could be weeded out. She was arrested on an industrial moon before she could tell them about “weekends.”

@ForestOfWhales I wish we would vote differently. Why are we taking sides and making enemies? It made sense against the clockwork whalers, but we don't understand the situation with these monarchs. We're just backing the King because we met him first, I think. Though the dolls warned us of him!

The King puts the seed in the Queen’s hand. She glares down at you, a steel statue more than three times your height. You hold out your hand. She grabs your wrist, pulls you close, and leans to whispers in your ear. “You think you are ready to play this game of ours, little one?”

@Foone There's a mod for Rimworld, Rimatomics, where radiation is blocked by walls, with stronger walls being better at shielding. Although I think it also has hazmat suits that somehow work almost as well as metres-thick walls despite being thin and light enough to wear.

@ghostbaby__ @ForestOfWhales I did. I see no reason to withhold information from the Queen of Glass. We've already been so negative about her and poor Graffiti. I want to fix things and being forthcoming hopefully helps with that. We're Fireflies. We should work to make friends.

@ForestOfWhales I like them already. Graffiti too. Personally, I think maybe Elegy's antipathy is just because Graffiti's her ex and they had a nasty breakup caused by pledging their service to different monarchs. I don't think they're actually bad.

Elegy squeezes your hand. “A rare pleasure,” the figure says. She towers over you. Her body is rusted steel, wrapped in a soft dress of ivy and mold. Copper wires curl and flow from her head, but she wears no crown. “We are the Queen of Glass. You may address us as Your Majesty.”

@Foone I choose to believe it's because radians are the SI unit and whoever wrote that wanted to rebel against the inches imposed on them.
