@TheCinesthetic Moonraker was produced in the wake of Star Wars, when everyone had to produce a space movie. They dumped the plot in the novel and reshot The Spy Who Loved Me, which was itself a reshoot of Thunderball.
English

Moonraker (1979) goes completely off the rails and that’s the appeal. Roger Moore leaning into the absurd, a lineup of memorable villains, glossy visuals, and set pieces that just want to entertain. It’s Bond at his most ridiculous and it works.

What is the most unfairly hated movie that you will defend every time

I seriously need some help here. My neighbor just put up this massive metal fence right along our property line and I’m honestly pretty upset about it. It completely changed the whole feel of my driveway and now it looks like I’m pulling into some kind of industrial corridor. I had no idea this was even happening until the thing was already built. It feels like my space just got boxed in overnight. What on earth can I do in a situation like this???

English

@cotton1776 @saniyafatma1278 The fence isn’t hers to paint
English

@cotton1776 @saniyafatma1278 Actually, in some jurisdictions, the fence is co-owned, even though on paid for it. As long as it’s legal, yeah, not much to do, except paint it. Consult a professional about the best colour. Maybe there’s a way to make it look like wood and give it a friendlier facade.

@NoContextBrits I’ll post the theme song too. It’s an excellent jazz number.

@NoContextBrits I also see him this way, as Bertie Wooster, with Stephen Fry as Jeeves. If you’ve not seen the series, I highly recommend it.

English

@USATRUMPMAN1 Plus, we had The Omega Man (1971). Another clue that Omega is the last letter.

English

@USATRUMPMAN1 What, you think we’ve never seen Beneath the Planet of the Apes (1970)? The Alpha - Omega missile. It’s Omega.

English

@RodneyMarshall1 You forgot Ice Station Zebra (1968). In fact, he had to take time away from filming The Prisoner. The result was the excellent episode "Do Not Forsake Me Oh My Darling" (Ep. 13 or 14).

English

@RodneyMarshall1 I’d never heard of this movie. But I found it on Prime. It’s on my watch list. From 1957.

Who's been sitting in my chair?! A rude awakening for newbie truck driver Tom (Stanley Baker). Dusty (Sid James) and Johnny (Sean Connery) seem amused, but they've probably seen it all before. There's a reason why Red (Patrick McGoohan) drives truck Number 1. #HellDrivers

English

@AmericanaMama_ Yeah, I don’t know about that. While I disapprove of violence, in the words of the immortal Sean Connery:
“They pull a knife, you pull a gun. He sends one of yours to the hospital, you send one of his to the morgue.”

English

@BuzzPatterson That’s a good picture of her, but best looking ever? I think I want to see the photos and portraits (before photography) of the others.

@TheMonologist The interviewer is Dini Petty, a presence on radio and TV in Toronto during the 1970s - 90s and even into the “aughts”. I haven’t seen her in years. This interview must have been on The Dini Petty Show. Thank you for the nostalgic post. And yeah, Yoko was from another realm.
