A few days ago, David Lammy wrote a letter to the Justice Committee answering some questions about his proposals to restrict jury trial. This is a welcome step. It’s a telling letter. But not for the reasons you might think. 🪡 🧵

Abolishing the right to jury trial for thousands of people based on efficiencies. Seems legit. Cling to that if you’re ever falsely accused of a crime - which, trust me, you might be. At least it will all be terribly efficient.

On Tuesday evening, the QEB Hollis Whiteman team proudly took part in the London Legal Walk 2025, joining thousands of others from across the legal community to raise vital funds for frontline legal advice services.

Practising ahead of final criminal advocacy exams tomorrow. My cross examination was so devastating that the witness was open mouthed with admiration. It’s the only explanation. I think we can all agree this bodes well for tomorrow 🙈
