Bench Culture: When the guys who aren’t on the floor are still in the game.

Unfortunately, with the transfer portal + the emphasis on winning immediately, the days of recruiting & developing high school players have become a rarity. College coaches want players who can usually come in and help out immediately. There may be a select few 16U teams that garnish the attention of college coaches, but the majority will be there for 17U.

To state that the recruiting landscape has changed is an understatement. The NCAA only has three "D1 Live" events. 1. May 17-19 2. July 11-14 3. July 19-21 What age groups will 90% of college coaches be watching? 17U with little to no interest in 16U and below. Are there exceptions to the rule? Yes.

If you want to play at the collegiate level, whatever HS team or AAU team you’re on, you have to have a significant role and a significant amount of responsibility. Then you have to consistently perform in the role and take care of the responsibilities.

Reynolds. Not even the first round is guaranteed against (26) North Davidson. ☄️The hardest road — (3) Central Davidson would play either (14) Ben L. Smith or (19) Dudley in the second round and potentially (11) Kings Mountain in the third? No easy at all. ☄️The easiest road - (1) Hickory.
