QS at Turner & Townsend who hates paper and prefers collaboration. BIM stuff as well. Views are my own like. Won't be applying for Grand Designs anytime soon.

@robertklaschka @LT_customer1st @rooevans In some cases that works, but its usually as a side consequence of the original data - sports analytics used to minimise betting returns is now used to spot cheating in sport. My background always makes me think what is the noise hiding... but sometimes there is nothing there

@rooevans @LT_customer1st @noscalerule There is a common flaw in some of the worst AI implementations for example where the computer scientists ignore that the data they need isn't available and instead use what is available. Trying to guess what a person is thinking from their face is probably the best example.

@rooevans @LT_customer1st @robertklaschka I usually start with a th group plus a nd e, but it's remarkably ineffective recently - suspect that the word selection is skewed to inject difficulty. There's only so many 5 letter words though.

@rooevans @LT_customer1st @robertklaschka Particularly if there are language variants. I approach it from the English language TH group and common vowel - treating it like a low grade cypher. Beyond that it's more of a logic problem once a couple of letters are established

@rooevans You have a point there - I was thinking more commercial value. Most military encryption is in 5 letter groups, but it doesn't seem to have a purpose for that.

@noscalerule I disagree. I think it’s a missed opportunity if no one is doing anything with that skewed data source. You’d have to work out how to normalise the input but there must be some fascinating insights there, no?

@rooevans It's a hideously wide and difficult subject. As long as you task it with the right job, it's a useful tool.

My 18 yr old has spent the last 2yrs seeking a joinery apprenticeship in the Glasgow area. He is an absolute grafter and now has loads of casual labouring/roofing experience and a qualification in Joinery/Construction. He just needs an employer to give him a chance. Plse share x

When you're young you think systems and routines in everyday life and work are for squares: they stifle your creativity and restrict your individuality. As you get older you realise they are the very things that liberate you from constantly being at the mercy of admin.
